Rinse the burette with the titrant before use, then after each session rinse thoroughly with deionised water and allow it to drain inverted with the stopcock open. If using a glass stopcock, apply a thin film of silicone grease periodically and never leave it dry. Store the burette upright or inverted with the stopcock open to prevent seizing.
